Me: I need metaphors to tackle this 900 page book. I'll approach this similar to marathon training; or maybe I'll approach this like a long test innings - one sentence(ball), one page(over), one chapter at a time(session). Okay yes this is working 💪

Virginia Woolf magic. On paper, a 200-word stream of consciousness sentence from a dogs perspective should not work; yet it works, on paper, on mind, on soul.

It's evident that James Cameron ripped this off to make Avatar. But he clearly didn't understand the central theme or didn't want to and missed the central message of the book entirely.

It amuses me that in Orlando(1928), Woolf talks about how there exists the truest sympathy between dogs and humans. Yet, she says(through Orlando, of course :P) the "dumbness" of animals is an impediment to refined discourse and truly understanding dogs.
Then, in 1933, she tackles this predicament by writing a 200 page "biography" from the perspective of a spaniel.

Enjoying this book as much I enjoy Tarantinos films
