If Isaac Asimov says it’s a horror book I guess that’s good enough for Shocktober. Also found it in the little library with a baseball card bookmark (Travis Smith rookie!) and felt like I had to pick this one up.

Kind of eased my way into Shocktober with the snake book- now I’m all in with mythical murder wolves.

Thinking this one might take me a while…

This was great space opera. Good combo of mundane world building/logical consequences….and the truly weird. Excited to read the next one.

Truant ass

Figured maybe I would enjoy this more if an English teacher wasn’t making me read it? So far that’s definitely true- a bit annoyed that this is a common High School English Book in the first place though.

Fun, maybe a bit goofy. The Victorian romance aspect didn’t do a lot for me here. There’s a stretch where the protagonist gets knocked unconscious like…3 times in 30 pages which is pretty great though.

Seeming like an excellent little library book so far.

The two ice cream selling hippies named “Len and Barry” really got me.

This was great.

Gonna need the occasional/frequent break from “house of leaves”

Guess I’m doing this. Like an idiot.

Don’t even start with me, Wolfe.

Why do I keep doing this to mysef?

Man…absolutely brutal ending, and not at all in the way I expected.
