Listening to the audiobook. Thank goodness this was free. Came for the delicious soapy dysfunctional family drama. So far it is not delicious, soapy or dramatic. And the romantic 'sparring' is ...belabored.

I need these people to do something other than think bitter thoughts.

Chapter four and I feel like the characters have finally calmed down. The first couple of chapters these characters were cranked up to 100. They are supposed to be in the early 30s but they feel like they are in their early 20s .

OMG. So the main character, Birdie Binkowitz has been arrested as an intimidation tactic so she and her dragon partner, Jim, will stop whatever they are doing. The officer refuses to tell her his name so she says "fine. I'll call you Officer Binkowitz. Hello, cuz." and she proceeds to annoy the hell out of him during the whole ride. She is so unserious! I love Birdie.

This book is hysterical. The entire first chapter had me ins stitches. The narrator is perfection. I did not know I needed a dragon speaking in a folksy southern accent, but I do!

These two meet at a wedding and their banter during that meeting in everything! I can't believe she is bragging about buying $15 champagne! They are cracking me up.

Kate and Curran just make me so happy.

The challenges are fun. I'd actually watch this reality show if it were real.

This book is cracking me up! The cheesy dating reality stuff is dead on. The scene where they have to 'shoot their shot' by shooting the object of their interesting with a foam cupid love arrow is had me giggling because they have to have multiple retakes because one character can't shoot for shit. LOL.

Ivy's sarcasm and sheer lack of fucks given hits just right for me. LOL.

Man, these two crazy kids are in LOVE love. It is oozing from their pores.

Holy cow... the character chemistry between Michael and Darby is fantastic. Just so well conveyed.

I am really liking this... it has a different energy.

This is soooo good. The narrator of the audiobook is excellent.

I keep picturing Sterling K. Brown as Titus. I am ok with this!

This is fun. Love Wyrick. Very different from Sala's other stuff so far.

I swear I feel like I am reading a Kristen Ashley book rn.

Whew. This part where Catalina is talking to Nevada about the hand over from Nevada to Catalina the head of House Baylor would have been a good novella. She recaps some events that would have been a great story by itself. I lowkey feel the telling blunts the impact of what is a rather riveting story.

I am loving all the action. But I must have blanked out this big love between Catalina and Alessandro from the last book. Everybody's reaction to him disappearing feels over the top.

This curmudgeonly asshole guy who has hired Catalina -- I am digging his curmudgeonly asshole-ness. He's awful. I love him.

"Step away from the Monkey!" And already on just page two I am IN!!

I am glad that this isn't going the super angsty route I was prepared for. More amusing than I was expecting. Sam, the heroine's, inner voice is great.

Ugh. Why? I was liking this so much and now this. Ugh.

Much darker in tone than her Chicago Stars stuff. But I am really enjoying it. Reminds me of her much earlier stuff like Honey Moon, Hot Shot and Fancy Pants.
