Whew. This part where Catalina is talking to Nevada about the hand over from Nevada to Catalina the head of House Baylor would have been a good novella. She recaps some events that would have been a great story by itself. I lowkey feel the telling blunts the impact of what is a rather riveting story.

I am loving all the action. But I must have blanked out this big love between Catalina and Alessandro from the last book. Everybody's reaction to him disappearing feels over the top.

This curmudgeonly asshole guy who has hired Catalina -- I am digging his curmudgeonly asshole-ness. He's awful. I love him.
