My thoughts so far are that the narrator is judgy & maybe racist.
Page 26: "I never understood Hilda. She was sick foot tall with huge slanted green eyes and thick red lips and a vacant Slavic expression. (...) I didn't know if she could read."
Page 17: "I noticed a big smudgy eyed Chinese woman staring idiotically into my face"
The food descriptions suck too and sound very gross. Not sure if on purpose.
