This is a Pulitzer Prize winner, very highly rated, and a topic and format I generally like. This, however, may end up being a DNF for me. This reminds me of my rambling thoughts while I'm out walking, and helps me appreciate that those thoughts can stay in my head without a loss to the wider world.

This book is bad. It's a mess. Do not waste your time.

Reading an ARC and this is ROUGH. The first chapter is ridiculous, in an unlikeable way. It reads like it's being written by a high schooler for other high schoolers, but knowing this book takes a turn to smut, I can't imagine that's the intent.

Literally from the very first paragraph, it has been non-stop interesting info. It's obviously very early, but there's a reason I read every book Roach puts out.

I'm not familiar with Soho, so maybe this is a gag I'm missing, but every person the main character meets is "a blonde" behind a desk or behind a bar, and I just want to know why.

Interesting ideas in here, but the author's voice is annoying. Hard to get into the content when he reminds you every few paragraphs that he's part of the problem he's describing in the book. And with no desire to change, it seems.

Why does this have so many good reviews? It's so fucking boring. Rushdie uses so many words to say nothing. I've tried several times to read this, and at this point I'm finished. Do not recommend.
