In a book so full of extremely detailed murder, mutilation, rape, disfigurement, death by fire, and child abuse that it's all become like background noise to me now, the absolute grossest thing happening here is the MC, who is 18, hooking up with a 57-year-old man and no one batting a damn eye!!!! 🤮🤮🤮

This needed an editor so bad. Even if you're publishing through a small/independent press, which I think this is, and you can't afford a professional editor, pass a completed draft to 2 or 3 of your friends for at least some casual proofreading before you publish. Every time I get into this story, some stupid grammar/syntax mistake yoinks me right back out. eg, "like a flip had switched" come the fuck on.
