Got this as a widget because I liked the first. This is more of the same and it's nice and all but I am a little bit bored. Waiting for things to pick up.

ok the middle is dragging a little bit, but I love the dynamic between Edmund and Dervish, just wish the traveling hadn't been so long. almost to the end and hoping for a happy ending, you got this T Kingfisher!!

So many interesting choices and so many details. It's very 'at this very second' lol and you want to know what's happening at every second! I am glad for the audiobook because while I appreciate all the interesting formatting decisions, the walls of text are a lot and difficult for me to read - the audiobook helped through those parts. Also the audio tricks in the audiobook are so fun.

an author's note in the middle of the story? this book is so unusual. I also picked up the audiobook because people said it's an experience and reading and listening at the same time and... yes, yes it is an experience. a very cool one. I'm surprisingly super into this formatting, and the story isn't bad either, though I can't see where it'll be going. I am intrigued.

I just checked who the narrator is because she's so familiar and good - it's Emily Woo Zeller! Opal from Minimum Wage Magic! I love her narration haha, also enjoying this book - it's a fun revisit to the sort of books that were popular when I was a kid.

I'm really enjoying all the nerdy word discussions and the fact there's appendices with a dictionary. This is so satisfying to the etymological nerd in me lol

Oh, and there's some decent romance in this too, but I mostly like the words. lol.

Wanted to listen to an audiobook while working but I also have my nephew I'm watching so I chose this for the both of us. Though he fell asleep, so now it's just me. It's fun and cute, he's missing out :P

Cute but feels like fluff. I don't like the MC lying about so much especially when people are trying to be helpful but it's obvious that's going to be the third act conflict before the couple actually get together. Very little to the "romance" in this too, it's mainly about the MC trying to figure herself out and just happening to find some people to help. The romance feels secondary, even tertiary...

Book club is this weekend and it's Wednesday and I'm only just starting the book! AHH I'm gonna listen to the audiobook at 2.5x speed lol

This is the most unique paranormal slasher I've ever read. It feels like a wild, weird, kind of funny, Sam Raimi horror movie. It's so goofy in the weirdest way but charming and fun.

It is weird but I like it.
