I think I want to like this more than I do. It's just anxiety-inducing and turning knots in my stomach. The language can be intense and it's all about abuse and trauma. I'll finish it because it's really not bad and it's well written, just hard to read for the content. I just finished She's a Doll which was similarly themed but had humor to lighten things, Scorpion Deep is definitely NOT humorous in any way lol

Just got both the ebook and audiobook from NetGalley. Reading it as my intro into next week's reading vlog! lol

Funny but devastating. Absolutely devastating. Tonally reminds me of the new Resident Evil, where the horror is mixed with humor. It's good and a quick read but also hard to read because of how sad it can be at the time.

This took a minute to grow on me but I'm really enjoying it now! It's a lot of fun. Also very sad. But somehow still fun.

Reading this for book club next week.

this is kind of a slog to get through but I have the most beautiful edition AND this is cosmic horror... like I want to love it, it's just making that difficult for me right now

A shockingly almost boring SGJ... not bad but super slow and conversational in an almost rambling way. Things happen but there's so much time between happenings that I almost start zoning out... still intrigued by the sequel, if it follows the daughter. Saw someone called this I Know What You Did Last Decade - accurate lol

If this leans more My Heart is a Chainsaw and less The Buffalo Hunter Hunter then I may dnf it, but I'll give it to 50%. I'm always unsure with SGJ because sometimes his writing is incredible and other times it's hard to read... lol fingers crossed I'm reminded of my favorite The Buffalo Hunter Hunter! Or even I Was a Teenaged Slasher, which I also loved.
