Not feeling the romance here. She feels too desperate. He feels too obsessive for someone who only knew her through e-mails.

Don't know if I can finish this. Heroine is too perfect when compared to the rest of her family. Yet she's really dense at times. The dialogue is tedious at times. Maybe if I had read it when it was first released in '89 I would have been alright with it. But not at this point in my life.

Romantic suspense, especially when it's heavy on the romance & extremely light on the suspense really isn't my thing. And the rich princess & the hardass story line has been done to death. Nicknaming your cock doesn't fit with the persona of hardass, but nicknaming it "Skippy the amazing one-eyed wondersnake" is ridiculous. Very close to becoming a DNF.

Not really liking this so far. Hero is a total dick. To sum up the heroine's thoughts so far, "He's inconsiderate. He treats me terribly. My father paid him to be my bodyguard when I didn't want him to and even though I've told him to leave my home, he won't. But he's so manly. He has a really big gun." While it's much better written than that, that's basically what it boils down to.

Not really liking this so far. The heroine's feelings for the hero are way too strong for someone she doesn't really know. Especially after he screws her best friend. Makes her seem like a nutjob. I also don't like that she changes her appearance and then the guy pays attention to her. It's the old belief that the girl should change her looks to get the boy, i.e., Sandy & Danny in Grease.

Started well, then went downhill. Their feelings were too strong for each other too quickly. They don't really know each other. Author also seems to be of the belief that her female character should be protected and stay safe, yet nothing is said about the male cop and the risks he takes with his life. Why does she have to not take risks with her life, but he can?

88% of the way in. Started off pretty good, then went downhill. Feelings for each other were too strong too quickly. Supposed to believe their in love when they really don't even know each other. Biggest problem though is why is it OK for him to risk his life, but not her? Not so much a male character problem there as it is an author problem. Feels like she's saying "the woman" should be protected.

5 days later and I've only gotten 10% further.... I'm beginning to think I may not ever finish this book. Note to self, just avoid the short story romances from now on.

It is taking me forever to get through this book. To be fair, I'm not a big fan of short story romances. People have to fall in love to quickly to suit me. I have sometimes found new authors that I like by reading them, which is why I tried this book. Not really liking it so far though. Story 1 - 2 stars, Story 2 - DNF, Story 3 - 2 stars, Story 4 - 3 stars, reading story 5 now.

H thinking of h in childlike terms when it comes to disciplining her. It just feels icky. Maybe it's the time period. She isn't a mature woman of contemporary times who would be able to understand why getting spanked might be exciting and be able to consent to that. She's very naive and childlike. It feels pervy on his part so far.

Not great. Not awful. Characters tend to be contradictory. Led to believe h is very intelligent, yet she's ridiculously naive about things that any person of her time should have known. H protects h from abuse of brother, yet I've read reviews saying he abuses her himself later. Brother is portrayed as abusive, then becomes protective when H asks for her hand.

Starting to go downhill. The author's plot to throw them together is stupid and on the part of the heroine, and she's supposed to be unusually intelligent for a young woman of her time. Most of this seems to have come about because the author wants "spanking" to be the hero's dirty little not-so secret since no one wants their daughter's to marry him because they know of this.

I like this so far. My only complaint is that every woman except the h is catty and cruel. And every man except the H is callous and mean.

BO-RING! Confusing plot, characters doing things that make no sense to me, and I don't care about the H/h. Not sure I'll make it through this one. I liked the 3rd book in the series so I decided to go back and read this one, the 1st in the series. If I read another book in the series, I will move on to the 4th.

36% in and it is BO-RING! The plot is confusing, the characters do things that make no sense to me, I don't care about the H/h. I really like the third book in the series, so I decided to go back and read this one, the first in the series. Bad decision on my part. If I decide to read another book in this series, I'll skip book 2 and move on to 4 instead. Hoping I can make it through this one.

I do like the hero's relationship with his son. I wish he had an actual relationship with the heroine. Hero may have thoughts that feel more feminine than they should, but when it comes to the sex scenes, those read like male porn. Kind of borderline gross like male porn tends to be. Maybe I just think to much about what I'm reading, but the thought of licking off creamy lube not even knowing if it was edible.

I'm not really liking this book so far. There's no relationship, just sex. I keep hoping there will be a bonding moment of some kind, but nothing so far. Written entirely from the hero's point of view, but some of his thoughts sound more like something a woman would think instead of the dangerous biker he's supposed to be. Like thinking of his chest hair as a pelt. Monster cock that would be terrifying.

At 62% in, I'm finding it very difficult to finish this book. I've liked the previous Charlotte Featherstone books that I've read, but this one suffers from the author going over and over the same information. Gives me a headache. It also suffers from a boring heroine. She's the virtue of Chastity and she keeps saying "No" when she means "Yes" and that bugs me.

I wholeheartedly agree with Courtne who rated this book 1 star that this book's characters are written as if they are in an IAD book, and that just doesn't work with anything but paranormal romance. The tone needs to be different for books set in the real world. And, in my opinion, the story suffers with only the POV of the heroine.

And why, oh why, would you bring back one of the most annoying characters I have ever had the misfortune to read for book 2. Jess, the best friend of the heroine from book 1. I hated her in the first book, and here she is (the female version of Biff from Back to the Future) giving her best friend (the bride) noogies while saying "Who's the wedding coordinator!" (meaning herself) over and over. Unlikeable!
