Interesting depiction of generational trauma and how it influences our lives in innocuous but insidious ways.

I was immediately drawn in by the opening chapters of this book. Steph’s past and present collide in a way that feels tangible. Generational trauma pulling her backward while also propelling her toward her ambitions. She and Della are very different, yet share a deep sense of family loyalty and an unspoken magnetic pull between them.

If there’s no Barbara haters it’s because I’m dead.

I’m a number one Barbara hater. This has got to be the most self centered awful character I’ve ever read. I’m particularly riled because I can’t imagine treating my daughter the way barb treats Frannie - who is the same age as Francis at the start of the book.

Being a parent isn’t an option when you feel like it 🤮

“Oh I do know you. I know you so well. I know you exactly Joan Goodwin.”

This might actually be theeeee MOST unreliable narrator I’ve ever read! I’m immensely enjoying it.

Wow. This is the best audio book I’ve read this year. The voice actor is absolutely doing an incredible job. I am riveted!
