This book makes me think of a cotton candy truck that tips over on a bus full of orphans, but you're stuck in the room with the cotton candy maker who is crying. I'm sure Chris Rose has some ptsd from visiting the aftermath of Katrina, but honestly the "rah rah we will rally" feels too sugary sweet for someone who is basically a dark tourist in his own town.
