me, reading two books about chess and insanity at the same time: this is it guys, this is the moment

why finish any of your other three current reads when you can reread an absolute banger and i can’t believe i never logged this on goodreads before?!?

i picked this up at the library, oh please loan deadline hold me accountable because so far there is very little dreaming and just a lot of prison

ok so far my girl is already absolutely crazy which i love but who in their right mind writes a subplot about the mc and her bestie who is in love with her giving the mc’s vagina a nickname (i wish i was joking oh i wish i was)

this is SO GOOD she never fails…also my audiobook hours are about to run out for the month so i need to pirate this because i’m too invested

ppl that are saying that nothing happens in this book have never read ‘gifted & talented’ by olivie blake at the same time like pls it makes this one feel like an action novel

the reviews for this are criminal but if i just lower my expectations enough i might get surprised, anyways I’m really in need for a quicker read so let’s see how this goes

finally reading this in the big year of 2026 and pls don’t let this go south (i have a feeling this will go south)

the thing is i really don’t know why i’m continuing to read this. the characters are all horrible, self-absorbed rich assholes, nothing ever happens but every scene lasts five hours.
sadly this doesn’t even qualify as a hate read, i don’t hate the storyline (although i do hate the characters), it’s just bland. but mama didn’t raise no dnf-er at the start of 2026 so alas, i persist

✧ re-reading this because i bought the second part but it has literally been three years and i remember maybe like 20 percent of the events. actually liked it quite a lot when i first read it, i hope i’ll still feel the same
