I love that Lorna Landvik reads so many of her own books. She's an excellent narrator, and I'm impressed with the addition of the music to the book even though it sounds so bad on the Hoopla app for some reason. Music on these books must have actually been decent in the CD audiobooks or something, but its terrible in these digital copies...

the banter of Lorna Landvik books is so clever and funny. I love the way she writes people interactions. Her writing style is easy and fun. Poor Thor and Patty Jane 😭

This book isn't feeling like it's worth finishing 😭 it's too slow of a burn and not very interesting....

Why would he shove his daughter for getting her period??? Something she has no control over??? A little over oars on showing the abuse... Sad she has no woman to go to in the neighborhood or at school or something...

Doing a re-read because I absolutely loved it when I read it about 20ish years ago, but I don't really remember it, so I want a refresher now that I'm back into reading and am older.

I know it's the point, but this guy is INSUFFERABLE! I have wanted to stop reading so many times because I hate the main character so much! Lol part of that might have to do with how the narrator is reading him... Either way, I think he's nailing it, and that's probably the whole point. I'm excited to see the film (because A24 only really does absolute bangers!)

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I want Theresa and Adam to be together. Ethan is a dick (main character or no, I really don't like him!), and Adam is obsessed with her, and she deserves a man that worships the ground she walks on after everything she's been through...

The guy reading Jameson gave him a mixture of jersey and JFK accent and it's so distracting... The dude is from Colorado! They sound the same as Hollywood 🤦‍♀️

"I'll tell you when the month is over" is getting so old.. we get it! you aren't talking about her until she picks one of you! how many times do you have to tell us???????
