None of these characters are believable as real people.... And this book feels very unoriginal for me.

I'm finding it really hard to believe these children are such brats.... A lot of these children raised by rich people in NYC are usually portrayed as being really well-behaved, so this is strange. I can't imagine the parents wouldn't teach them how to behave in public since most rich people know how to behave in public from a young age...

Her working about someone "busting" her for magic at this point of the book is annoying and just doesn't make sense.

them constantly saying "gods," instead of "god," is so annoying (I'm not religious, but is this really necessary to say "Gods," over and over and over and over?) the narrator makes it seem so repetitive the way she reads it (it is really repetitive)
