I’m happy there’s a long game plan to hurt Tamlin, but sad that it seems to be at the expense of Lucien 😢
We get it, Lucien F’d up but his intentions were never selfish and based on loyalty, not Pride like Tamlin’s. Lucien is also a victim of these circumstances and some culpability falls to him, but not worth the betrayal of Feyre’s friendship!

I’ll admit, I heard this series was just like other romantasy books (& others just like it) but there have been quite a few things that are just diff & I like it.
*spoiler* From something as small as her being the little sister, to them actually TALKING about boundaries & pregnancy possibilities immediately after having sex the 1st time, it’s refreshing. + they voiced the thing others don’t. They have time!

The interaction with Lucien made me sad.
Then #OnlyOneBed immediately after

Am I supposed to like this Ianthe character? Cuz I really don’t trust or like her

Wow, still in Ch1 & they are already showing signs of Tamlin & Feyre not being 100% compatible. I knew from talk over the years that our 1st love interest falls away from being the main love interest. But not this quick!
He doesn’t wake to her nightmares & her being sick over it, and gifts her colorful dresses she hates. IRL, I’d say “girl, communicate!” But romantasy world: that’s a red flag.

Wow. Very rarely does the thing I complain about in a book get fixed like that.
Y’know, SJM, I respect it. You knew that was a weak point and you made it a weak point/annoyance for a reason.

(Talking about Tamlin’s seemingly blasé reaction to “you killed my friend!” when bringing Feyre to Faerie. I definitely thought it a weird balance, but after hearing backstory, I get it!)

A kiss on the hand, a kiss on the cheek, AMD a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding all at once?! How scandalous!

I actually like the story so far, but my biggest issue: stakes were so high & feels wrong for the level of mercy Tamlin gives.
In Beauty & the Beast, the imprisonment with the nice digs boils down to trespassing. You (or your father) trespass? You must live out your days here, never to return home!
In this: you KILL my friend? Treaty says you come with me. Idc what you do after that. +respect growing fast from that.

For the book club!

I adore this so far. They’re just so dumb but I love them.
When it switched to Kit’s POV, I was thrown at first… thinking we’d get much of what was told from his perspective, but I wouldn’t have been mad, honestly. Definitely well written from the idea that neither version is WRONG, but neither had all the facts and was skewed by emotions.
Also, everything is SO gay! Everyone, everything, everywhere.

Alright, starting to see the beginnings of a romantic relationship, not just physical. There were seeds in most interactions, but nothing beyond what was in their heads. Now this is where I start liking the story more 🤞

I think it’s slow going with the Yangchen story for a few reasons.
1) very political/spy story, which isn’t exactly my jam.
2) Nancy Wu—great voice actress btw—loves to change the way the names are pronounced. I know that many of these names are fictitious and usually based in Asian cultures, but the fact that even SHE changes from one way to two others every so often distracts me & I forget to pay attention

So good! This was the one I was dying to read the entire time I’ve known the comics were a thing, but only just getting around to it.
I remember hearing the base of The Search and spoiled lightly years ago, but not exactly HOW, so that was a nice arc for me to follow.

Restarting woh the audiobook

So far really cute! Interesting case of mistaken identity. I like both the characters and felt like I quickly caught on to personality types so the beginning didn’t drag like YA Fic books sometimes too at the beginning.

Interesting play on fake dating—dating coach for the sake of journalism. I already see where there will be a miscommunication/misunderstanding, so I’m unsure if the author is going to subvert it or just ride that wave later in the story.

1) give me more Kieran POV. His voice is like butter! Also reminds me of the narrator of the Lemony Snicket movie.
2) wow. Not how I expected it to end but I can dig it. The twist part, not the cliffhanger part.

5) Attes? Was he in the ballroom w/ Cas@ the end?
6) Kolis? It was vague (again) on what happened. Fight, but did he disappear? Stasis? Dead?
