I’m utterly charmed so far. Clear, concise, yet vivid writing, clever thought and gentle but compelling emotion.

I'm not much for tales of inspiration - probably because of overload and diminishing returns. One can only feel inspiration so many times in a row, and there are so many, they can't all be one in a million. But this book inspires me to change my running style, and run more.

I ran on Saturday, trying out some learnings from the book. Still sore; I'm calling it progress.

Fascinating story, and a powerful combination of motivating and practical. Only gripe is the surfeit of cute, glib phrases especially early on, like the author's trying just a bit too hard for a friendly-gossipy rapport with the reader. Example: Going out for runs at lunch from job as biochemist because, after all, how fun could periodic tables be? Because, y'know, smart = dull. Overlooking that, it's great.
