Blake Walker is on page 54 of 459 of Arnhem: The Battle for the Bridges, 1944
Reading about the prep and lack of planning on the Allies part in the Airborne invasion of Holland, SEP 1944 CE. It is is incompetence bordering on criminal. I know what happened. I'll read about the last stand of the British Para's and Polish Airborne soldiers killed. Those men didn't deserve to die like that on flooded fields of slaughter. Unremembered and unloved. Monte be damned!

Could only read so much before I broke down in tears for a half hour. The slaughter of the Jews of Arnhem and Einhoven proved too much

I can't stand the defenders of the Waffen SS or the Nazis. They deserved no quarter. The mass slaughter of innocent children and using underage girls as disposal sex toys only pissed me off to no end. This is going to prove a hard read...

I'm giving up on this work. Continuing it isn't worth my time, which is too valuable to waste on crap. Love horrible B-grade movies. Especially 1950s sci-fi. However, I can't stopped horribly writing books. Seeing a disaster like Plan 9 from Outer Space on television is much more satisfying than reading garbage like Prince Lestat. I'm disappointed in Anne Rice, to say the least....

Blake Walker is starting The Man in the High Castle
Pulled the book out of my private library. My brother recommended it a while ago. Doesn't look that long. It might be worth reading for Temple Emanuel book club, next year. Even though the author wasn't Jewish....

Feel like I'm wasting my time reading crap. If I wanted that, I'd read Steven King's latest work. Thought Anne Rice knew better. Feel like she sold out to her publisher for money. I'll see if things improve, otherwise, I might trash this novel in order to read something better like Trey Dowling's Protectors thriller.

Read up to page 415 of A History of Ancient Egypt: Volume II by John Romer. Lots of archeology of the copper mines of the Sinai desert and their trading routes by the Red Sea during the reestablishment of the Memphis court during the Middle Kingdom.

Know it's not everyone's couple of tea, but Romer does a good job in establishing the importance of the copper trade and torquies trade to the Egyptians.
