An easy and thought-provoking read so far. Lots of evolutionary psychology and anthropology in the first half.

I’ve been trying not to view this book as objective science, but rather, as an interpretation. There’s been a couple questionable parts, but again, this is only their take on human history.

It’s the ideal segue to personal research and delving deeper into certain centuries that attract the reader.

I'm fairly skeptical about this book because of lines like

"Countries that consume the highest amount of dairy products, such as Switzerland and the United states, have some of the highest incidence of osteoporosis, while other countries, such as in Africa and Asia, where virtually no dairy products are consumed, have the lowest rate of osteoporosis and hip fractures." (p 62)

this book is a lot more scientific than I thought it'd be. it refers to a lot of work done by other psychologists (experiments, studies, etc). nonetheless, it's still interesting to have ideas of intimacy and emotional security written as vital human needs, instead of solely for the 'weak minded'. I feel like i'm reading a psychology textbook, its eye opening and intriguing enough to keep going though.
