Mr. King, I please beg you to stop writing about Holly. I pride myself in saying I've read every book in publishing order, this series is making it hard.

I think fantasy is just not for me anymore.

The constant use of names when characters are speaking is driving me nuts. I don't organically say a person's name in every sentence I speak.

DNF, glad this line came up so early in the book. FREE PALESTINE

"....six little groups who felt like they were Israel, beset on all sides by those who wanted their extermination."

The pacing on this is a bit too rushed.

How many times must these characters say each other's names? I don't think I've called my best friend by her name in at least a year.

DNF at 52%, just overall underwhelmed & if I power through it, I see it being rated 2.5 stars. On my perpetual hunt for a great historic horror novel, this, like others I have read, just does not include enough horror.

I know it goes along with the subject of this story, but it is just too much nothing.
