"...me being his son and him being my dad, is pushed down and something else moving up in its place. It's like a man looking down to see his son and seeing a monster instead."-pg. 116. I find this golden gem interesting because it is depressing for Steve to know that his father is crying and is his fault. It is hard for Steve to accept his father crying and feels more guilty because of that than for what he is trial.

"I see that Miss O'Brien meant when she said part of her job was to make me look human in the eyes of the jury" I chosed this golden gem because it represents how prisoners are viewed as something else rather then human. Some people argued that criminals are worthless animals. This is how Steve is looked at but he has to act like he is a normal person that is free and not in jail. I think this is an important quote.

The author of this book uses characters as being real people who are in trial for a crime just as in real life. The time is being on the present and a case is being taken place. The author uses a style as being a script for a movie therefore it is easier for me to keep up knowing who is talking and the setting of the place. The book so far is interesting and I could actually imagine these people being in front of me.

Stargirl is a person who is very weird like my cousin Denise. Both my cousin and Stargirl are not very social, they like to be by their self. But unlike my cousin,Stargirl is good at cheerleading and people talk about her trying to discover who she really is. So far the book is boring but I expect to be more interesting.

I predict that the narrator and Kevin are going to get Stargirl to be on the hot seat. I think this is going to happen since she is the new girl at school and everyone is wondering who she is and why is she so weird, where did she come from. Also because i think the narrator will try to prove that Hillari is wrong and that Stargirl is really a real person and not fake. So far I haven't enjoyed it but that can change.

I got more into the story now as i read. I actually find things interesting about Walter, such as the part were he first meets frank and he punched this one guy to save Frank. Walter says that he actually feels good about fighting even though he knew it was bad but there is something about him inside that makes him like to fight. Now as i read i look at parts such as this one and try to connect them to the title.

The story got really intersting since last time. It talks about how Myers has now gone into a better school were only smart boys went n he feels dumb. He is not doing good at school and his life is getting worst and worst. As he is writting more and more he is actually losing his family. It seems like his father and mother don't care about him and his mom starts drinking. Im looking foward to knowing what happens.

Im also enjoying the pictures which help me visualize what's happening and im not confused. Finally, im looking foward to this book having more action so i can enjoy reading it.

Well I looking foward to this book being exciting and I am going to enjoy it.

The book is interesting because im learning of the past of how people who immigrated got caught and they all end up getting reported. Is interesting as well since im learning on how people use to feel when they got caught and deported. I can't imagine how I would feel if this happen to one of my family members that have the risk of getting deported. I hope i learn more about this when im done with the book.

So far the begining of this book has said or in my point of view it has said that immigrants don't belong here. There is alot of racism here in which people do not want immigrants because they say they dont belong here. But immigrants suffer alot here trying to find jobs. So far the only example the book has provided are the chinese. in which they were treated unfair. So far the book is interesting.
