Nyssa is on page 331 of 688 of The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy
I generally choose to not add textbook type reading to Goodreads, but I've found this book to be beneficial and have enjoyed learning from it and the examples that Yalom gives. (Albeit some of which are distressing...to me anyways.)
(This is a required read for a Groups Therapy course I'm in, but it is not a textbook. #appreciateit)

Somewhat repetitive, there is so much that is good in this book, but I don't like the way they express their perspectives in a way that is somewhat superior and not taking into account aspects other than their opinion.

These last two chapters have been so good. The beginning took awhile to get into, but Part Two is blending a respectable amount of character into ethics and is really well done.

Uhm. How to describe...it's a book that draws you into it and become friends with the characters, but it lacks depth and ends up being superficial and both obvious and nonsensical at the same time.
Enticing yet frustrating book, definitely would have enjoyed it more as a teen, but now it's a bit too much for me.

Nyssa is reading The Four Loves
I appreciated this book so much that I turned around and read it again. Still not sure if it's lack of experience on my part or simply a disagreement in his phrasings in certain expressions he made in regard to the different loves.
As a whole, I greatly appreciated this book and CS Lewis' musings. I highly recommend it.

Nyssa is reading The Help
Well, I just finished this book at 4 in the morning and it's exam week and I have work tomorr...today. Tells you that the book definitely captured my mind and honestly heart. It was a bit too sweet in some way, as if yeah, it was written to be a good story-fiction. Besides the lack of grit, I appreciated it a lot. Great book. Glad I picked it up. Makes me want to go do something about the things I'm passionate about.

So good. Agreements and disagreements. Feel like I just had a very good theological conversation on the concept of pain within living in humanity.

I disagree with one of the main premises that he's advocating for and basing other principles/ideas on..."the heart is good." Which kind of puts a damper on things. Like his analogies, but he doesn't always use scripture in a way that supports what he says it does? That's the best way I can describe it I suppose.

Decent book, I would appreciate reading it after marriage rather than before. He's repetitive to bring points home, but a solid read for sure.

He's passionate and desires people to live in abundance...but man, it has the feel of an emotional pursuit that is there for a moment but leaves so soon. Maybe I'll be able to articulate what is lacking as I keep reading.

Chapter seven on Remaining faithful in the midst of unfaithfulness and drawing close to Christ in the pain and struggle was incredibly powerful.

Solid read so far depicting marriage in terms of self-sacrifice as an image of Christ in loving one's spouse. Loving God through loving your spouse-good book so far.

So intense and such a good seeking into the deeper heart and mind of both myself and humanity. Takes a sec to adjust to his writing style, but good material to make one think.
