LOVING this so far. I’ve been so desperate to read something that gets me hyped to open it up. Or open my kindle app, as it happens. It’s got such a captivating balance between horror, thriller and literary fic. If Eleanor Oliphant and What Lies Between Us had a baby. Will report back as I get farther in~

I’m not gonna lie. I’m so bored.

If it feels like I’ve been taking forever to read this it’s because of a mixture of it not having an audiobook and me having so much trouble getting into it. I’m almost done. I bought this book when perusing a bookstore so I won’t DNF (I hate doing that when I spend money lol) but I’m hoping it ties together at the end and excites me.

Honestly liking this more than the other book of hers I read. I have a theory that I hope isn’t the case because if I predicted the twist in chapter 1 I’ll be disappointed. Will report back. I love the lyrical style of this prose.

Omg I just realized that I’ve actually read this author before. I was fairly lukewarm on the other one but Karin Slaughtered blurbed this and she has never let me down so I’m going in with higher expectations. Will report back

Heyoo if you are seeing this and haven’t added A Great and Powerful Tyranny to your Want To Read shelf, you should go do that because it’s one of the most wonderful books I have ever read. There is whimsy and romance and found family and it’s a modern isekai like COME ON BABES

I never had any interest in reading this author if I’m being honest but I got this book in a blind date with a book thing so I guess I’m here. I’ll try to keep an open mind.

I needed an extreme palate cleanse from that last book so I went from gory horror to a cute sapphic romcom because that’s as far to the other side of the genre spectrum I could think of

Man I just finished my Locked Tomb reread the other day and I think it’s making me more angry when I read bad books because I know what quality is out there and what slop is being fed to us.

This has been recommended a lot in horror spaces and it has an interesting premise so I’m going to trust the process but I’m ngl so far it’s just gratuitous violence and I’m not sold. Will report back.

Genuinely obsessed with Chaghan and Rin projecting hardcore every time they roast each other. The call is always coming from inside the house. You hate that you match each other's freak so hard.

I think Kitay should be allowed to juice a few freaks without consequence. As a treat.
