Not happy about the poor quality of the cover - it's all curled back on itself, having done so almost as soon as I opened the book for the first time. For a £15 book I would expect better quality paper.

Content's fine, though ... :-)

This blurb is arrant nonsense:

"David Churchill writes with the immediacy of Conn Iggulden ..." No he doesn't.

"... the epic ambition of Bernard Cornwell ..." which is an insult to Cornwell ...

"... and the plotting of CJ Sansom." Are you insane?

It's poorly written, one-dimensional nonsense.

Good start - although I'm really not sure about this use of the present tense. It's not working for me - although in every other respect it's looking promising.

Hats off to Berwick Coates - it takes a special kind of author to make 1066 a dull year!

Not hugely impressed so far.

Only 50 pages in and it's already fantastic - by golly, but Cornwell's a great story-teller.

Seems to suggest that I've given this one star. I haven't - I've only read Chapter 1!
