While I am enjoying the rich detail of this, I must admit I was sort of expecting more to happen

So much talky infodump but I am still really enjoying it

Well this is GREAT!

This isn't as lush as Gillig's previous work, and I'm not really feeling our girl's affront with this boorish (not boarish, oh how I winced) knight

Love the way these guys basically have a 700 page book arguing that making sweeping declarative statements about things is reductionist and obscures the intricate complexity of human choices, but they still make the occasional sweeping declarative statement. (Because we cannot just look, we are always looking to find meaning.)

Unconvinced about their juggling of concepts within the definition of "state", but let's see where they're going with it

I don't mind a trope or a cliche done fresh, but this feels a little cheap

Obviously I love a good swear, but I am not at all vibing with the rhythm of how the expletives are being used in this voice. (The too-simplistic lyricism in general is grating on my nerves.)

More hilarious academic shade being thrown

The ways in which this is in conversation with Thomas Covenant are fascinating to me

This is fun but I am not quite in sync with Brennan's style
