Why must I go on listening? Dedication I guess. Started with ARC audiobook but was confused 3 chapters in, restarted and did immersive read….chapter 38 and still mind boggled. Too many characters, too many strange words with little definition and too much world. Oof

Audiobook ARC, pub date 5/12/26. I’m finally starting to understand this world, but I’m still struggling with the audiobook. One narrator has a very strong, drawn-out, ear-piercing “s” sound, and the other female narrator is the voice of Violet Sorrengail from the Empyrean Series/Fourth Wing, so my brain keeps drifting back to that world instead.

There’s so much going on in this story. My mind is confused.

Too many POV, all women. Urgh.

Book moved up on my TBR because my child brought it home from high school to read.

I like dystopian. I was confused in a world I don’t recognize. I continued to read, not understanding but hoping it will sort itself out in my mind. Chapter 5 got me hooked…still lost in an unknown environment but trusting the story at this point.🤞🏼

Whoa, 127 pages in one sitting, so invested. Immersive reading & the audiobook is fun.

As a mom of boy/girl twins, I am regretting this read at this moment.
