Chapter 13 - done with this narrator. When he reads OBGYN as O B GIN - that's it. A narrator prerequisite should be literacy.

This isn't great literature but it's entertaining enough to get me through the work day without having to pay close attention to the story. The narrators are ok EXCEPT the constant giggling. It is driving me up the wall. A few times might be ok but this is overkill and frustrating. Then - the singing. OMFG stop please. The original song Lark sings with the band is making my ears bleed and IDK if I can continue.

I bought the book for my King collection. I listen to the audible for convenience. I find, as the female narrator progresses, it harder and harder to tolerate her. I am afraid that if I listen to one more by her, my ears will begin to bleed. I guess I must skip her stories and go back and physically read them. The male is fine, often better than fine but the woman - OMG no more!

Anyone who labels a movie from 1998 as a "classic" just lost a lot of my respect.

So far my favorite stories are Snow, Glass, Apples and Awake.

I hope I didn't pay much for this.

Aw man. As I listen to this book, I am also browsing my local rescue shelter dog updates, I reach the "lab" part of the book. Kill the family, kids, and people you want. FFS do NOT hurt the dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may not forgive you Malfi.

This just released today, so I set the audio I was listening to (Memorials by Chizmar) aside. I figure I'll listen to one at work and one at home. I was surprised to see they are both narrated by the same guy. He does a great job but this might get confusing.

Loved The Thicket easter egg!

Chapter 20 - Sheena. Chaz says to Sheena's father "Look, Sheena's right over there." Almost immediately later, he struggles to remember her name. This pulled me out of the moment and was distracting.

Overall the story is compelling but the preaching is too much. I won't be reading another by this author.

He continued to back-stab her repeatedly until the blood was pissing out of the several holes dotting her back with each breath she took. - Please let this book be over soon! The author is trying so hard to create vivid imagery and is failing so bad.

Reviews mention a lot of grammatical errors. That would drive me crazy. Must have been cleaned up as I am not noticing them.

I have enjoyed several Triana novels. I loved Larry by Millard. Just not feeling this one yet.

How many times have I read this series? I can't remember. Last year I decided to take my next journey via audio books and so it continues. This might be my favorite of the books. Then again I say that as I reread each book (except the first). I forgot just how much I love Eddie Dean.

Perhaps the only thing worse than reading a McFadden is listening to one. The narrator is terrible. Overly dramatic. Exaggerated emphasis on every other word.
