I need something light after many heavy books recently.

Chapters 90 and 91 almost made me cry. One of the most powerful scenes I've ever read.

Laughing at the line, "...he thrust a thousand daggers into my heart; admittedly they were stage daggers with disappearing blades, but he thought they were real enough." (Chapter 78, pp 843).

Wow... this book is something else. I am extremely impressed by Dumas's dedication to realism and accuracy with all non-fictional details. Furthermore, I'm impressed by the depth of characterization of everyone in the book. It's a lot to take in, but it's so worth it. I can easily imagine myself waiting (more or less) each week for the next installment when it was first serialized in 1844-1845.

We're trying again, for real this time.

This isn't so much a reread as reading a facsimile first edition I acquired a year ago

Decided to add a bunch of books I'm reading/rereading to my currently reading list. I'm hoping to finish rereading Dune and Dune Messiah by the time Villeneuve's next movie releases in 2026.
