Thinking and writing must be ways for the writer to cope; some of the descriptions do make me think about life, the meaning of life

mind-blowing and really enlightening, but still I'm reading it with a grain of salt ( not very sure everything he wrote is accurate, most studies are quoted in favour of his thesis perhaps. ) nevertheless, one of the best books I've read so far this year.. This book has taught me a lot about this crazy world

didn't expect a Chinese character. interesting

poor parenting is often to blame for many problems, particularly youth crime, but the books is telling us that parents themselves also experience many difficult times while growing up. Worse still, they don't know how to end the vicious cycle themselves. So how can we heal? that's the theme for the remaining chapters. I guess perhaps we can all pause for a while and think what we should do next.

I have been told by soooooo many people - friends, family members and doctors - that women shouldn’t suffer tooo much stress because it can cause problems to their breasts. Now I’m starting to understand why, the underlying reason and the association between stress ( extreme, long-term and sudden acute stress) and the physical pain and suffering

truly wish I had more time to read but summer classes have kicked off ...

I don’t know why I am reading these hefty books about neuroscience probably because they are fascinating… learning things about why we behave in a certain way.

the importance of having a role model in your life:
there was a little white kid at school who said to .. and another little Black kid, "All you guys could be is garbage men when you grow up"
And Alexander's standing there saying, "well, I don't understand that' cause my Dad's a layer."

learn quite a few new words up to now
used to find it difficult to say ophthalmology, but now I can type it and say it ... good

reading this book on metro makes me feel self-conscious... there are some parts being too confusing. psychology is just too complex perhaps ....

learned many idioms, words, phrasal verbs.
