something tells me if we spent a little more page time on plotting and a little less on the minutia of the food they're eating and the clothes everyone's wearing, this would be properly phenomenal. oh and if catalina's internal narration had a little more confidence that would also do it. that being said, this is excellent, excellent brain-in-neutral entertainment

unsure how I feel about this so far. epistolary format but the writing just feels like regular narration.

kinda in love with his writing here. really enjoying this. Gabriel’s song is reminding me of light in august in good ways

there are too many characters with similar names that are all far too long and with far too many apostrophes, to the point that addison mentions a character and half the time i don’t know if it’s a new character or if i’m meant to already know them.

wow i wonder if he’s sixteen. he hasn’t told us at all.

very enjoyable! in a low-stress kind of way

the worldbuilding is so cool and magnificent but the plot itself is a little lackluster for what it could have been. i think the short stories in particular had better premises.

and so begins what will probably be a multi-year endeavour of reading this book, collecting gluck's entire body of work. stretch goal would be to read a poem a day, but that remains to be enacted!
