I grabbed this book on a whim from Quick Picks during the SRC kickoff at Dublin, and I’m SO GLAD I did because my surgery kept getting pushed back and back and back and instead of freaking tf out, this book made me laugh. It was like hanging out with an old friend. I love Rainbow Rowell books, so why have I gone so long b/n them??

Okay, here’s my out of nowhere, who even knows why guess: it was Shane’s Dad or maybe a hidden brother that tried to kill and rape her all those years ago… I’m going to say that his Mom had this person hidden in their house somewhere like Jane Eyre style. Just got to a big twist and as much as I don’t like Andy Weir (have remembered during this that I actually read Artemis) I actually did like this twist. I was like, wow… good one.

Trying to move books off of my want to read list… I’m not sure how this got on my want to read list in the first place. In fact, I don’t know how most of them got on there, I wish I had notes attached to them, since they’re probably late night additions. This is the first audiobook I’ve sped up.

Listening to this through Libby and I’ve always been intimidated by Toni Morrison because… poetry intimidates me… but she’s a riot. I’ve laughed way more than I expected to. Also felt sad more.

Okay so far the idea is fine but I’m irritated that Maura, who has these posters of famous people being arrested and is making these manic pixie dream girl speeches about not focusing on the bad parts of peoples pasts but their big dreams bitty blahh… also has a diatribe about social media and how our lives are shared with everyone now. The boxes wouldn’t been handled differently before the internet. 🙄

Legit love how the author casually threw in a description of a guys dick using the phrase “hung like a Coke can,” and kept rolling like nbg.
