On my second read through of Axiom's End, the pacing is up and down for me - the simple situation of Cora and Ampersand sitting down and conversing with another to compare and contrast their lives are among the most interesting parts of the novel.

Picking this up for a re-read now that the sequels have come out~

Back on my nonsense here - its endlessly hilarious that we have a scene of two dryadologists (people in the lore of this world who very seriously study, track, correlate and more among the fair folk who very much exist in cannon) immediately dunk on the concept of ghosts existing.

The first thought I had upon finishing this is I definitely need to get my eyes on a hard copy to physically read it for my own understanding - for both better and worse. 🤭

Absolute Cinema.

The portrayal of the author's parents are touched with nuance and yet make me seethe - I often get a sense that so often members of these communities and followings say that children are a blessing and yet repeatedly those children seem to be treated as expendable.
