I was so excited about this book and am already loving it

This book has lost me. I was kind of into the “big feelings” David and Sarah have for each other as teenagers in messy love, but all of the teachers in this book are super creepy and no one is reacting like they are.

I’m having trouble getting through this. Over 100 pages in, and we haven’t made any real progress on the mystery. There is not a sense that we are moving forward on the plot. Which would be fine, except the characters are a little too flat to make up for it. I wish I had something in the plot that would allow me to have a theory or something.

The least believable thing in this is that a teacher would have time during her passing period to make it to the bathroom to do a pregnancy test.

Bullshit.

This is said by a teenager whose friends would freak out if he didn't update his snapchat story every hour: “We send emails and Facebook messages and IMs more than we actually visit our neighbors. America is run by faceless corporations. And if you don’t show up, your coworkers don’t check on you, you just get a pink slip from HR.”

I think it's weird that "Everyman Character" often means "(probably) had an affair with a woman not much older than his daughter."
