a good plot held back by mediocre writing, this will be my first and last time reading a book written by alex aster

first thoughts: the writing is so rudimentary and plain. it’s very much telling me a lot of stuff while somehow not being descriptive in the slightest. and i’m already irked by the mention of another generic malnourished, short, yet somehow probably a ferocious warrior with unheard of powerful abilities.. i’m bored. but i’ll be a good sport and give it 100 pages, or it’s getting returned..
