Not sure I am interested enough in the story to be with the MCs whom I do not really like.

Dehydrated, not that much food, yet still manages to kill guards. Rest of the guards do nothing?
Such hubris: able to kill 3 guards no problem, but don’t wanna
Get tired of male and female.

As a librarian myself it always make me sad when archivist and librarian are seen as one and the same thing :( Which is a immediate turn off for me

Page 138/ what changed? Me. Did I miss the her realising she wants this, instead of “you don’t think I can do this, so uneh, I will do this “.
ATM I don’t see the fuss (just like with ACOTAR / TOG)

Luckily we read that our MC trains. A lot: before breakfast, runs after breakfast, trains with the rest and somehow still has the energy and time to read and hang out. I wish I had her stamina. The story sometimes feels a bit juvenile, like our MC. It’s better than I expected (so far), but still average/okay.

Love how she is constantly stating that she could kill them all in a flash, is that arrogance, overconfidence or skill? And of course she is familiar and very good with all weapons, even maces. Haven’t read that she is muscular or that she trains with weights.

Again we have an 18 year old who is a prodigy in what she does. Foundations of romance, or the obligatory 3 way, are set: beautiful eyes/lingering glances etc.

I am not sure what to think. I’m kinda getting bored

So Mathilda is young and that shows. Maybe it would have worked better if she was a bit older. Picked for a momentous task and every time something goes “wrong” it’s running and crying. Maybe the Institute could’ve trained her better (?)

I can’t seem to get invested in the story. Somehow Asha has managed to self learn programming, flying and lots of other skills she just happens to need while being an “indentured worker” who gets no education. We get told a lot of stuff, never really seeing it happen.

I still struggle with the flow of the sentences. Takes me out of the story.

I get distracted by the sentences. It feels like literally translated from another language (which it probably is). They feel quite bumpy. Some repetition: i.e. she looked with curiosity and disgust; and was disgusted by. Storywise is okay, not that invested yet.
