I still really would've liked perspectives from characters other that Nasir and Zafirah just to round out the story and balance things, but the revelation about Benyamin's backstory is really helping to finally flesh out the characters some more

1. this would be a lot stronger if we got kifah and benyamin's perspectives too

2. the "dud" relationships seem to have been built up way too much, while the one we're meant to ship hasn't been built up enough at all

The plot seems to be quite slow at the moment and I'm not super captivated by any of the characters yet, but there are still plenty of pages to go

anyway you know you're really hooked on a series when you read the first 100 pages of the next book immediately after finishing the previous one
