This book is excellent - intriguing, plot driven, and crawling with intrigue. I am finding the sheer number of characters quite confusing, but I can live with it. I am still able to follow the plots.

This is one of the most tedious books I’ve ever read. I’m giving it a few more chapters and then if it doesn’t pick up, it’s going to the charity shop.

I struggled to get started with this book, but once I got going it improved. I dislike the character of Six immensely. It’s nice to see Thaniel and Mori again.

In a real reading slump at the moment. I find I will pick up a book and then put it down again in boredom about ten minutes later. Could be I’m picking up rubbish novels, I’m in a mental funk and can’t concentrate on anything, or a combination of the two.

I’ve read a few non fiction titles recently to drop off to at sleep time, but I sort of miss novels. Anyone else have this?

Thoroughly enjoyable; just hella long. Why use one word when eighty will do, and I still think “said He, Cromwell...” is a very long winded way to say “said Cromwell.” Love the character of Henry VIII in this. A bloated, indecisive monster. I’m totally rooting for the Cromwell boys, even though I know how this one ends.

I swear I will finish this one day... for now it’s going on the “will be continued one day pile.” It’s just super long, not much of interest is happening yet, and it’s written by Stephen King and I’m not sure I fully appreciate his writing style. We’ll see.

IT’S SO BORING. I’m beginning to think classics just aren’t for me. Everyone bangs on about them being brilliant and how Wuthering Heights changed them and stuff. But I find older books kind of inhibiting. The language is stilted. Sentences drag on about fog for like twenty pages (looking at you Bleak House!!!!!). I’m going to try and carry on. But not feeling it.

Thoroughly enjoyable so far. Not your typical gothic horror book though. Not much ghostly goings on, which is surprising.

It’s a very slow burner. I feel at this point I’m struggling through it, rather than enjoying it terribly much. It’s been a bad slump recently with books. Nothing is holding my interest lately, causing me to go back to old favourites I know I love.

I am trying very hard to love this book. Apparently the author is brilliant, but it’s an incredibly slow paced novel and nothing much has happened yet at nearly two hundred pages in. If it doesn’t pick up it’s going on the did not finish pile.
