This book is everything I want on paper. Hopefully after I finish off a few other books I can really hone in and enjoy. Book club book for September ☺️

Really needed to read something like this. I’ve learned a lot and have been able to have lots of conversations with friends.

I am enjoying this. It feels slow moving and I don’t enjoy booms that have a quest for a magical object, but I like the 2 plots and how they came together. Reading this for a “traveling book” with friends.

Can’t believe I’m only 51% through 😩😂

Very slow moving. A lot of this is predictable so it’s not booking me. Just going to keep listening as I’m doing things around the house.

Trying this one again. The main issue I’m having right now is that there are nine main characters in this book and I cannot get connected to all of them.

So, I guess they are all in this together then… I’m okay with this. And really wanna know where we are going.

Finally feel like I know what’s going on. The C-section comment was amazing.

Not going to lie, this is a weird one. Maeve is clearly somebody who enjoys being disturbed. Works as a princess, has a best friend Kate, whose brother is Gideon. She found some kind of doll alligator thing and made it existential.

Grasping blindly, she said: “If I were a highborn lady—” “But you are not”—he cut her off—“you are not, just as I am not a headmaster or a man of trade.”

If this were not a romance, I would be distraught. My guess is she is elevated somehow. My tragic loving heart wants them to not end up together lol but I know that’s not how this works.

“Enough,” He murmured, “enough.” 🫠

Plot has begun. Annabelle is a commoner working for a woman’s feminist group to earn her keep at Oxford and the duke wants to get his house back by throwing a party for the Queen.

I’m enjoying the sweet parts and that he is getting memories back. Frank is Vincent. And I believe my theories were right, at least one.

I have a few theories, but now that we are on to the more romantic bits I’m enjoying it. I like their books because there is always an element that is a little ridiculous, and I’m glad I stuck with it. Also, if Annie gets a book, her quirky personality better be the main character. She’s great.

I’m not sure how I feel about this so far lol trying to reset my expectations.
