I am really enjoying this young teen lit cozy mystery.

So are these middle schoolers or high schoolers? I honestly can't tell. That also makes it hard for me to know who the intended audience is for the book.

It is really striking me that the creature is basically an eight foot tall and extremely strong toddler. I've read this book many times, written many pages on it, and it still holds surprises for me.

This particular edition has a number of typographical errors. Often a c is used instead of e. I doubt his cars heard bird calls.

Third time's the charm for attempting books, right? I enjoyed the movie adaptations by Villeneuve and made it through the David Lynch adaptation. I've just always found the writing clunky for how highly praised this book is.

Huh. I'm beginning to think schools and colleges assign the 1830's edition. The writing style in the 1818 text is different, less Romantic and whiny. I actually like reading this text. May have to reread the 1830's one at some point to test this theory.
