the whole prologue chapter of this book would ALMOST be enough to put me off except it doesn't actually matter to the story but also WHAT ARE WE DOING

Having the same experience here as I do with a lot of Beatriz Williams books, where I'm plotting family trees on post-it notes to track previous books, but I'm loving it.

There is a choice of words used on page 7 that is not bad enough to make me put it down BUT might be bad enough for me to dock a star off the final review.

I'm hoping my reading experience is going to mirror the first book where I had to force myself through the first three quarters, but then could not stop with the last setion

This is achingly, sickeningly sweet & very high school, but in the best way

because I have eyes, I can see that this book is very long, but it sunk in that I'm on page 300 and there is still SO much to go

I'm really enjoying this so far, and I'm so glad I'm not reading it on kindle; it's really helping me savour the story.
