Books one and two were all about the pain of being queer. I will try one more time wirh this author and if it is more of the same, I am done.

I am listening on audiobook, and the narrative slogs as depression days. Getting lost for hours in thick tar thoughts where work is performative nothing for nothing and then small comfort from youtube videos sitting on the hard dirty floor where hunger hides. Is this meant to tell a story or to leave us unsure if we were actually left in her mind with bloody gravel as she runs away this is dangerous.

I'm enjoying the book, but I don't believe I've ever seen the word crudite used this many times in a book.

I have been thoroughly enjoying this series. It is a very unusual way of switching the story between books, but it is just so nice to see the parts of the future the way I want to see them. Where things STILL aren't perfect, where there's still discrimination and violence, but where it feels there's a hopeful future.

I was disappointed for the first 1/3 of this book. I usually look forward to supernatural books about people older than 30, but Alice was definitely not a likeable character.

She is 100% the anti-hero. I am not into anti-heros, but it is giving a lot of background info.

I look forward to any urban supernatural books where main characters are over 35, but I'm having a tough time getting into this. It has a super strong anti-hero thing going. Her selfishness with her search for Thomas is really bothering me. I feel no sympathy or empathy for her.

White author writing about a person who is a minority population member preaching to readers about how she is forgiving because it's only right to accept and forgive microaggrresions. This is the same author who writes about very curly frizzy hair (on a white woman) as untameable while regularly ripping a brush thru it, wet and dry, and only using a cream rinse and/or detangler.

Dr. Lisa Powder seems like a good way to make soylent powder.

Mercy's grammar correcting is rude. My reviews are badly written, but I was a professional writer for 15 years. She seems to pick ones where she isn't correct. Example: she told Adam it is "It is me," when he said, "It is I."

Both are correct. "It is I," is grammatically correct. "It is me," is common usage. Don't correct people's grammar unless they ask you to, and never do it for iffy statements like that.

Chapter 3. I'm seriously grossed out that Adam could get turned on immediately seeing what he saw in the house.

Shadows of Opus. The premise is ok, but I don't feel anything foe the characters so I won't look ip further series books.

Mystic Motives. Starting it now.

Having a tough time with this book. Watching her slowly lose herself to emptiness hurts, and book 3 is the peak. I assume the other character will help her soon bc it is a book. I have never read a character go through it this way. I am only pushing myself through bc I have to see her make it. Otherwise I will get stuck in the memories that I do not appreciate the author pulling out.

This was terrible choice for Audible. The male voice actors are great, but the long pauses are annoying, and the story would be better if I could "read" it faster. At voice speed i am finding it slow and boring.

I hope it gets better. Maybe I had hopes that were just too high after The Night Circus.

I'm halfway done and assume this is self published. It is stiff, and the author switches view points too often. She needs an editor who knows grammar (and can conjugate lie/lay) and who knows where to rewrite and revise. It feels like this author will be great one day, but she needs more classes and/or a solid writer's group who aren't afraid to tell. Her what to rip apart, dump, and keep. I hope she keeps going.

I am really 3njoying this book, but I own it and several of my library books just came in. I will be stepping back to this soon.

This is a boom of short stories, so it is taking me a little longer to read. I cannot read short stories one after another. I have enjoyed all the stories I have read so far, and I am glad that I picked up this book.

My currently reading tab says 28 books. A few are the "first book of the month" freebie thing for Amazon prime members. A few are non-fiction that I forgot are loaded on my kindle. I read non-fiction slower, generally read a chapter, move to something else, etc.

All are loaded on kindle. I need to find that bc my Galaxy tablet is not a good solution.

It was a library book, and the library took it back before I finished. I'm back on hold at getting it again. The book has an interesting story line, and I like that it's different from the fantasy storylines I generally read. The holidays got in the way. I'll probably pick this back up later in the year.

I loved the Finishing School books as well as The Parasol Protectorate books, but this book is slow and uninteresting. I'm sorry I wasted my money on it. I'm leaving it on my kindle as an "Oh no, I forgot to load new books, and I'm away from wifi and need something to read!" book. I have no idea when I'll finish it.
