Ignoring Stult's horrified cries, she swung her attention to the sergeant of the guard, & then spoke. 'I go now to my flock. Do not impede me. I will find the flavour of their rage. If it is found wanting, their lives will end.'
The sergeant's gaze did not waver. 'And if it tastes good?' he asked. 'That rage?'
She realized that she had no answer for him. 'I am their goddess,' she said. 'I will answer their prayers.'
