Jordan is finished with The Girl on the Train
As soon as Rachel told the golf club story I knew the identity of the killer and everything fell into place.

When it's all over I'm going to review this novel, and tear it apart like I did with The Accident by Linwood Barclay.

65 pages left. No clue who the killer is. I have a theory, if I'm right the twist is a let down. If I'm wrong I have no idea what's about to happen.

I have no idea what the twist could be, so here is my possible list. Anna and Rachel are the same person! Rachel is a ghost and Scott can see dead people! Tom is the puppet master! Rachel has a split personality! No compelling motive has emerged at all.

Police have a suspect. There is evidence? I think it's unlikely. I don't see how Tom and Anna fit in. What about Mac? Rachel seems too clumsy to be the killer. So far the story is fairly mundane.

I am slowly stitching the pieces together. Rachel tells us a story that justifies her behaviour. Megan may suffer emotional abuse. Someone goes missing. No evidence or motive for murder I can see. We haven't heard the inner thoughts of the men yet. In fact they are still at quite a distance.

Spill over from previous post: On page 51 Rachel has a vision of herself harming Anna as seen in the movie trailer, as to whether this event actually took place, we don't know yet.

There is a time jump to a year-ago when Megan witnessed an argument. In the present (2013) Rachel blacks out after causing some sort of disturbance with her ex Tom. Not sure how Megan and Scott fit into all this. Maybe witnessing a murder from a train is a too clear-cut narrative.

I'm getting ready to read this book. Like I did with Gone Girl I will post my reactions as progress through. I look forward to seeing this on the big screen too. I looked back at my Gone Girl entires and saw how critical of the police I was. I'll take special note to see how they turn out in this novel. Here we go.

This book is incredible! I wanted to learn about rapid prototyping and here it is! A book so hot off the press the preface was written in February 2016.

My family is all newspaper people so I grew up checking my sources, I'm not the least bit surprised that the blogger community is so corrupt.

Fascinating life story so far. I've always wondered and now I know. Written in a easy to read voice, it's not easy to put down.

What would a thriller be with out doubting cops? Why can't the police, just one time give someone a break? Copious amounts of novels because the investigators don't believe the suspect.

I've had to cut back on post because they are all spoliers. p.217 starts Part 2 and everything changes. I was right about some stuff and way off on others. I CAN say that the suspense has really kicked up a notch and the book has become a thriller.

Another Amy Chapter and we meet Desi. I'm beginning to wonder if Amy has done this to herself? Has she staged her abduction because Nick wasn't a great husband? And her final revenge is seeing him take the fall for her years of unhappiness? Amy's diary entries show her being an exceptional wife, what if Nick "got in the way" of her dream life?

Ok so let's assume this is a story about a murder. In any mystery there are suspects, we've only met a few so far: Nick, Amy, Margo, Desi, Hillary and Noelle. The other minor characters are too removed to be the killer, if there is one. Now we meet Andie, and here is our motive.

Finally after a lot of scene setting and character building we finally get a solid clue. I'm beginning to think Nick wanted a divorce and Amy got sad then vengeful and did her treasure hunt and is waiting for Nick, somewhere. I kinda hope Amy is dead and Nick has suppressed memories too. Don't disappoint me book.

Nick is talking to the police. He admits he's lying to them, at least about how well his marriage is going. P. 49, "My wife was no longer my wife but a razor-wire knot daring me to unloop her." He sees his dad and Margo. There is no "Missing Wives for Dummies" book. A murder most foul? I don't know what to think yet.
