I do like these characters a lot, some of them are savage - I much prefer characters from different walks of life, not always the mid-working class people with strong morals.. But, I'm finding this very long and I lost steam, in all honesty. Perhaps a break is in order

I'm very mixed on this one.. On one hand, the world building is very intriguing and quite original, on the other hand I don't think it's been well-explained - I wish I knew more! In terms of the characters, they're kind of bland, okay but not developed very thoroughly, I don't think.. and I'm not buying the supposed chemistry at all. But I'm here for the plot, hopefully it will resolve in a cool way

I'm enjoying it, but not as in love as the reviews would make me think.. Let's see what happens in the second half though

My second try with this one and I think I'm sticking to it - I like the group of friends and the MC

Needed something fun (and funny) with good pacing and quirky characters, so of course I came back to T. Kingfisher

This is still charming but it's getting a bit 'old', the game-like set up - we move from place to place, discover something we need to discover, then move to another to level up more..

A classic fantasy feel and I'm enjoying it! (Don't like Dan though, what a silly dude, get rid of him)

Not sure what it is about this story but it's very captivating, I couldn't stop listening yesterday..! And technically there isn't much happening, but I'm very much looking forward to picking it back up

The story is structured as a combination of fragments - a memory from the past, the current situation, the memory from the past, the current situation, etc, I quite like that - awaiting the arrival of the bones while the mice invasion grows in intensity

Still enjoying it, though when initially we were moving from one character to another every other chapter now we fully focus on Saqib and I'd rather keep exploring others. His story in particular doesn't interest me that much, but the writing is still beautiful

In the spirit of catching up on the 'big books of 2025' I've picked up this one. I'm liking the story so far, though I'm assuming there is (and probably will be even more) a lot of symbolism I'm not catching..

Still enjoying it - A few details escaped me, but overall it's a fascinating portrait of a Pakistani society across decades

Normally I'm not a big fan of the 3rd person narratives with many characters and decades-spanning stories (prefer more intimate stories), but this one is captivating. Audio works well for it too

I may need to stop picking up romances.. nothing is landing for me these days. I'm not really buying these romantic feelings the two are supposed to be feeling, they're acting so childish they could be 17 year-olds.. I want a mature couple, not two teens basically who throw tantrums and have no clue how to communicate or deal with emotions of any kind..ygh

I really lost steam with this book.. It is quite slow and I've been struggling to continue. I do like the character and the setting still, but she seems to have the same problems over and over (men don't value her, there's sh*t tons of misogyny going around, equally strong in the academic circles) and I'm kind of tired of it. Even if she gets some revenge as one review suggested, I'm unsure that it's worth my time

Ok, I heard that the audiobook is really good, I have it on hold and will return to it that way - I'm kind of enjoying it, but with different voices perhaps it will resonate more

Hmm... this is turning out to be another story that just rages against patriarchy - which, yeah I get it but I wanted more from it

I know we always need an antagonist but this man is vile.. I really hope he'll get chopped up for parts when we get to the ultimate Frankenstein's creation

This one is nice but it's pretty slow. If you enjoy the character and the setting, it may push you through, but overall just now things perhaps are gathering steam.. slowly

Catching up on this book before Vigil comes out later this month. And it's confusing so far, but I read some reviews and am reassured that it's not just me ;)

I'm really enjoying the writing and the voice of the main character. Setting also established well already
