Emily has this incredible talent to hook you on the first page. Just look at this writing:

Not gonna hit my secret reading goal this year but I'm definitely gonna get this one done tonight!

Reading this to sharpen my skills but it's nothing new. A bit disappointed as this was marketed as something revolutionary.

In light of the tragedies during this week of Hanukkah, I’m stepping away from my Christmas novels to reconnect with my roots and intentionally support Jewish authors this holiday season.

I'm starting to think I might be a curmudgeon when it comes to starting a new book. This has been just okay so far. A bit boring. Nothing is happening even though there is so much story building.

And just like that... Another iconic Freida twist. I'm back in.

This book is adding nothing to my life. Probably not a good choice during the holiday season. Oh well.

I'm flying through these Freida books right now while on Thanksgiving break. Great way to turn off my teacher brain for a bit. It also helps that these are on sale for like 99 cents. 😆

Call me crazy, but I feel like five chapters from the Darling's POV was more than enough. Why are there 50 more pages of this?

I'm struggling to understand what's going on in this book. I'm trying to both listen to it and read it. Did everyone else get a different version than me?

Chapter 6 was incredible. Chapter 7 was delicious. Chapter 8 is getting spicy!

Whew... So glad I picked this one back up.

I love love love love this book! It's everything I needed for this season. I will say it's a little long though. It's not dragging or anything, but it feels like the story should have concluded by now.

As a New Yorker, all I gotta say is... Jack is a herb.
