I’m a little but bored. It just feels like Harry Potter for 17 year olds. Sigh. It’s just not grabbing me. I might have to dip in an out s bit.

I think at 64% I am a bit exhausted by this book. It’s very rapey and I can’t really bounce back like the h. I find the cheating aspect depressing and the second romance disheartening. Maybe i’ll come back to it. I don’t know. There is no JOY in this book.

10% in an nothing has happened apart from a lot of inner monologues. And I am already irritated by a heroine on bodyguard duty who wears 4 inch heels. No one does that. Especially when they’re 6ft already. This book is on the verge of being a dnf!

I’m not sure about this book. I HATE a heroine that has no independence. She stays rent free at people’s houses she just met, gets bar job to pay them all back, then is out buying fancy underwear and cowboy boots. Oh it just irks me!

I am so disappointed in this heroine. She trips over her high heels whilst trying to escape? What an utter dipshit

I’ve got a real bugbear with people who just get in their car and drive. With no plan, no booking, no sense of direction even. Winnie can’t even find her own car, let alone push it out a ditch. She is seriously clueless.

I find Americans writing British accents really hard. No one says ‘chaps’. Ok the guy is from Cambridge. Well so am I. No one says it apart from someone really posh or old. And no one calls someone a ‘fine arsehole’. Sigh. It’s really off-putting

What exactly happens in this book? Answer: not a lot. I’m just a hit bored. A bit dragged down my the characters shitty lives and not really connecting with them nor liking them.

annnnnd I’m pausing. Is it just me or is this just a little… boring. The hero is too good to be true, the attraction too instant and the cosy island vibe just a bit too snuggly.

I have no idea what’s wrong with me but I am just a bit ‘meh’ about this.

So far there’s a lot of inner monologues and not very much action. I swear if the H muses one more time about ‘keeping her’ i’m going to throw my kindle at the wall

I’m adding ‘whence’ and ‘lark’ to the list. ‘Cockwomble’ just isn’t a thing. It just isn’t. This English aristocrat is just not cutting it.

I just need everyone America to know that us English folk do not say ‘nodcock’, like ever, unless we are trying to pretend we are from Elizabethan times… and even then, i’m not sure they said it either

Er... i might shelve this for a while. it was all just a bit too quick. I wanted more push/pull between the characters. It was just a bit too cosy.

I’m finding it a little hard to connect yo the characters. Jason is a star athlete but there is nothing about sports in this book. He is more like a detective hero rushing to the h’s aid. The h seems a bit weak. Jason has to protect her. I’m just a bit ‘meh’ about it.

A little bit if a flat start. Just not grabbing me. Too much extraneous detail, not enough happening. I’m out.

Do you ever read a book that’s so great you have to go away and really think about how you are going to sum up its greatness in words, then totally forget all about it and end up leaving no review at all? Sorry great books. I am rubbish.

DNF10%. My fault. Should have realised this was a daddy book. Not really my thing. But you never know... one day.

Putting this on the shelf as I think I need to read the previous books in the series first as it keeps referencing them. I find MC books hard in the first place so I need an easier intro.

This book has just been one massive downer so far. The author could have just started with the breakup. I don’t need all the shit bits drawn out in my romance novel, I really don’t.

There are 46 winks in this book. It’s just starting to wear a little thin

Programmer geek Trevor and Natalie become roommates and get together. I found this story a bit meh. Nothing much happened and I didn’t feel particularly invested in the characters. Miscommunication is the main angst in the storyline which is just a bit annoying to me when you know it could all be solved if the two just spoke to each other. Not really my thing.

And Trevor as a hero name does not ring my bell sorry

So far the h is a drip who has said nothing of interest and the H is not very likeable. I am not sure this bodes well...

No one has air con in this book. Everyone is always sweating!
