look, i haven’t been able to stop thinking about this all day. joseph fink’s horror/thriller stuff just scratches my brain just right

bro idk if this book is going to be for me. the ghost? of his mom is having a conversation with lisa simpson?? what are we doing here?

when in indianapolis, AND driving by the white river, AND i’m seeing john green at the end of the month, i simply HAVE to reread

every single time i start to really get connected to a character/story, it ends, and a new one starts :(

sometimes you get influenced to reread a series bc you forgot the third installment came out

“a rule that applies only to some isn’t a rule. it’s a manipulation tool.” PREACH

rereading so i can give the other 2 books a try, but this book is sooooo long, and i feel like it really doesn’t need to be. also the naming conventions are lowkey giving eragon to me in a “we’re going to try to have linguistic reasoning for some of the most convoluted names you’ve ever seen”

this feels like pluribus in a way i think i’ll enjoy, but the story isn’t grabbing me quick enough, and i’m worried my loan will expire before it pulls me in

what if we just stop caring about billie? what if our lives would be better for it? have we considered🤔

it’s just so camp. i love susan

reading the omnibus on my kindle so
probably further along than 6%, but after sitting on my shelf for over 7 years, it’s about time i got around to this

i went in blind and reading this right after evelyn hugo feels very serendipitous. i know i’m going to be more intentional about organizing my library, but if i were going based on vibes like i have been, tom lake would be lumped in with evelyn hugo and siren queen

i get that it’s part of the signaling to note how wealthy and put together paige is but also the repeated brand name drops just feel like intentional brand placement that companies pay for in tv shows or movies (there’s a specific name for this that i can’t remember rn, but it’s like the car ad in the middle of the barbie movie or the whole airtag ad episode of the summer i turned pretty)

i wanna be debbie’s best friend so badly, absolutely iconic

an ethnography that feels reminiscent of (but more modern than) the guests of the sheikh that i read for my freshman year anth class back in the day. lowkey sad i wasn’t an anth major, but it is what it is.

oh work is less busy and stressful and i have time to read again. prepare to be SICK of me

A CHARACTER WITH DYED BLUE HAIR??? IN ASOIAF?? literally why didn’t anyone tell me i would’ve read so much faster

okay THIS is more of what i wanted. tell me about pasteurization and the how and why and the pushback and ways they tried to find alternatives. tell me how condensed milk came about and how they altered recipes to make do with that.

lowkey wanted this to be slightly less recipe focused and more history/narrative focused. it kinda feels like when you could tell dickens got paid by the word and he made things longer, it feels like he gets paid by the page so he put a lot of illustrations and recipes in to save him from having to write as much.

10 years ago i was a scared little kid in a foreign country reading newly published truthwitch as a way to cope with my dad’s cancer treatment. now, as the series draws to a close, i’m still finding comfort with these characters. thank you, susan, for everything 💕

will i finish in time for book club tonight? who knows

i have time to read again, and witchlight just came out last month. time for a series reread 🥹 and i’m lowk emotional about it

nearly cried MULTIPLE times already

well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions (having too many libby loans that i can’t renew because they have a wait list)

i went to read the newest book and realized i forgot everything, and my libby loan is about to expire, so quick series reread here we go

guess who went to the bookstore on her lunch break 🙋‍♀️

please be so for real. her name cannot be january. someone say sike rn
