i get that it’s part of the signaling to note how wealthy and put together paige is but also the repeated brand name drops just feel like intentional brand placement that companies pay for in tv shows or movies (there’s a specific name for this that i can’t remember rn, but it’s like the car ad in the middle of the barbie movie or the whole airtag ad episode of the summer i turned pretty)

okay THIS is more of what i wanted. tell me about pasteurization and the how and why and the pushback and ways they tried to find alternatives. tell me how condensed milk came about and how they altered recipes to make do with that.

lowkey wanted this to be slightly less recipe focused and more history/narrative focused. it kinda feels like when you could tell dickens got paid by the word and he made things longer, it feels like he gets paid by the page so he put a lot of illustrations and recipes in to save him from having to write as much.

10 years ago i was a scared little kid in a foreign country reading newly published truthwitch as a way to cope with my dad’s cancer treatment. now, as the series draws to a close, i’m still finding comfort with these characters. thank you, susan, for everything 💕
