Martin is 50% done with Photography and Surrealism: Sexuality, Colonialism and Social Dissent
haven't had the inclination to finish a few more secgements of this, which doesn't bode well for a work that covers so many topics I tend to enjoy

Martin is reading Status Anxiety (Vintage International)
it's been a few years since I read this and I seem to be connecting with Botton's work more these days so I'm giving it another go.

Martin is on page 200 of 368 of Blood Meridian: Or the Evening Redness in the West
taking my time with this one, it's not easy to absorb so much violence in one go. plus the notes. and the lectures. and the criticism. lol

The kind of succulent word-feast that only Coetzee can deliver. I'm not reading so much as devouring.

Martin is reading Fatelessness
So far it lacks the punch of Liquidation, but it was his first afterall.

Martin is finished with Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography [Paperback]
done. both reading, and making it into a properly formatted epub. Like all of Barthes' work this is indispensable yet dated - his insights seem to me to always be glued to the age. Though I enoyed witnessing his personal reflections vis-a-vis his personal photos and memories.

managed to find a poorly scanned pdf so I'm painstakingly converting it to epub myself and can share it when I'm done ;)

I can't stand how Latin compound surnames are alphabetized in the Anglo-centric book world.
