In which Dan Brown once again learns something for the first time and thinks everyone else would also be interested to know what he knows because he’s so smart (and repeat it all multiple times). I don’t need Dan Brown to explain an encrypted messaging app to me.

I’m loving this. I love Temeraire’s personality, I love their dynamic, I’m interested in how the story is going to handle certain themes and have high hopes and trust Novik.

I’m not really enjoying this? (Audiobook) it feels like a Freida McFadden (negative).
The main character is unlikable, but not in a Yesteryear way, in a McFadden main character making dumb decisions way.

Claire stayed because she loves the drama

I have far to much fun reading out loud and imitating a highland accent.

“Those were your mother’s pearls!”
“Aye, and now they’re my wife’s”

Switching between digital and audio, having a great time.

Enjoying myself

This book is so laugh out loud funny at parts, and then breaks your heart in others. These characters are so dang well written.

This is so dramatic and like a soap opera when it is good, and then I struggle through passages about farming. I know very little about the twists and turns of this story having never seen any adaptation, so am surprised at each point which is a delight, though it definitely feels that it is building slowly to tragedy. I don’t know why by I love a horse race scene in fiction.

Having the best time, so funny, enjoying having more awareness of what’s going on, I love these characters, Magnus is just the sweetest man making puns and loving Abigail, ugh and the awful teens, and just Gideon and her big arms

Listening to the audiobook for a reread and enjoying Moira Quirks narration - I loved her audio for The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy.
Really enjoying going back into this series with a better understanding of what the heck is going on. And Gideon is still hilarious.

Every time with these books I feel so lost, but in a good way.
Rereading these after will be a joy
