its not easy reading with 2 kids… esp 2 under 2 😴

this “pretend” thing poppy and casteel are doing irks me so much. like theyre both just so dumb. and all this explicit stuff going on doesnt make sense lol. i just wanna see more focus on the politics, drama, lies, twists, blah blah

World Hijab Day 🧕🏼

Been wearing this crown on my head for 17 years now الحمد لله. Started when I was 9 years old to be like my three besties at the time. It’s the most beautiful act of worship once you understand that it’s for the sake of Allah and its His command. Hijab isn’t just a scarf on your head, it’s everything that you are (dress, talk, manners, etc). Wear it proudly :)

I’m hooked. It’s been a while since I read a different kind of fantasy that wasn’t about faeries. I love the historical fiction aspect of this book. Something about a fmc who loves to read and/or write gets me in a good way.

started this year in another reading slump.. i dont think this ones going away anytime soon. 2023 on repeat.

books about muslim love stories dont sit right with me… even the ending of “as long as the lemon trees grow” felt haram to read… if youre going to write about muslims AS a muslim writer yourself, keep the haya for your characters too. why is it so hard?

KIDS BE READING THAT STUFF. why can i no longer find good books with amazing plots WITHOUT that nonsense.. im having to skip 10 pages in a row to avoid it. yall do realize its no different to watching p… its actually so infuriating

Idk if its just me but its almost end of the year, and I’m reaching a reading slump. Currently trying to read two books at once and its actually hard.

Reminder to myself first and foremost,

Genuinely so disappointed with House of Flame and Shadows that I had to go read chapter 48 of Kingdom of Ash for the 2857385738th time (BEST CHAPTER OF ANY BOOK PERIODT)

The goal is to finish this book today. I’m so done with the series.. dragged this out for too long.

As a teen, I only read books (esp fantasy), seeking out romance.

Now in my mid-20s, I still love fantasy but couldn’t care less about the romance and esp the sm*t just disgusts me. It’s no different to watching p***. I skip pages just to read about the fmc’s struggles, secrets, adventures and ultimately their triumph.

Not a fan of the excessive cursing and s*xual tension on almost every page. Honestly, Throne of Glass spoiled me by keeping it on the low and focusing more on the main plot. However, I am still reading because I want to see what happens with the ACTUAL story 🤨

Only on chapter 2 but I’m so confused so far. I feel like I was just thrown in this strange new world, with new people and WORDS I DON’T UNDERSTAND?!?!

I’ve read ACOTAR and TOG and the beginnings were easy to understand and get into but this is throwing me off for sure..

Its shirk. Associating with astrology is shirk. Believing and reading its “signs” is shirk. I’m sharing this info incase you didn’t know. إن شاء الله now you know.

So grateful to have found muslims, esp my sisters, on this app. Through you girlies, I’ve been introduced to amazing islamic books as I’m still new to my “seeking knowledge” journey. May Allah reward you for every knowledge I gain because of your book recommendation on my gr feed 🤍

im going to keep reminding those who are genuinely reading to seek knowledge or reading for fun but are struggling in deen to do RESEARCH on the book and AUTHOR before engaging!
