This year’s Booker Odyssey continues. This is yet another one with fewer than 200 pages, so hopefully I’ll be able to make short work of it, ah-ha ha ha, ha, ha.

Book 1 of the Booker longlist and it’s pretty unimpressive so far. Really flat, featureless narrative voice and lots of characters who are very difficult to care about. Based on what I’ve read up to now, I’ll be amazed if this makes the shortlist. Maybe it will improve in the second half though!

Wasn’t that impressed with this at first but it has turned to be quite entertaining. One passage made me laugh out loud this morning- a rare and exciting event

I appear to be struggling with this this one. It’s funny, in places, and clever, in places, as advertised, but a feels a bit pointless so far
